Week 2 Day 2 of 7 แงไม่เสร็จแฮะวันที่สองเลยมาวีคสองแล้วก็ตาม ไปต่อครับทอง
00:56am เลยเที่ยงคืนมานานแล้ว ผมก็ยังเขียนบทไม่เสร็จเลยแง ตอนแรกคิดว่าวันนี้จะเอาให้เสร็จ ไม่เสร็จ ตอนนี้จะใช้วิธีจับเวลา 15 นาทีดู คงขอ 15 นาทีไปดูคลาสของ Pixar in a Box หน่อยดีกว่าอีกนิดนึง ก่อนจะไปเขียนงานใหม่อีกทีน่ะ พรุ่งนี้ต้องไปตรวจร่างกายทำงาน ก็ค่อยทำต่ออีกทีละกัน อ่านที่เขียนไปอะไรแบบนี้ แล้วนี่เดี๋ยวอีก 15 นาทีก็มาเริ่มทำธีมอะไรสักอย่างลงในเพจกับหญิงเล็กด้วย ทุกคนจะได้ไม่นอนดึก ไปกว่านี้ (ทำให้ได้โหวยทอง ไปทีละนิดทุกวันนี่แหล่ะแจ่ม)

Wants vs. needs
ถ้าอยากรู้เข้าไปในจิตใจของตัวละครให้ถามว่า “What does this character want? ตัวละครตัวนี้มีความต้องการอะไร?”
ทำไมต้องรู้? ก็เพราะมันจะช่วย inform story ถ้าเราไม่รู้ว่าเค้าต้องการอะไร มันยากที่จะพาเค้า take on a journey น่ะ (ซึ่งการเดินทางนั้นเองก็คือ เรื่องราว ไง)
"Wants drive a character to act.” A character might want something and do everything to get it.
“Needs are the things we need to do, or learn in order to grow or succeed in life.”
for example, a character might learn that they need to share what they desire in order to be fulfilled, or happy.
“The distinction between what a character wants and needs is important in building a character.”
คำถามที่น่าสนใจคือ Wants กับ Needs ต่างกันยังไง
want ก็คงคล้ายๆอารมณ์เราอยากกินของหวาน need ก็คือกินผักอะไรแบบนี้ need ดูเหมือนเป็นอะไรที่ไม่ได้มาง่ายๆแบบ want งิน่ะ want a fancy car, but need to feed the family อะไรแบบนี้
บางทีการมี conflict ระหว่าง need กับ want ก็ทำให้ตัวละครของเราแข็งแกร่งขึ้นได้ ทำให้พวกเค้าต้อง go through trials that turn them into more of a well-rounded character.
เช่น Woody WANTS to be Andy’s favourite toy and stay that way and he NEEDS to learn to share. To share his friendship and to not have to always be the best.
Sometimes a character might want something in the beginning, and then their need completely comes out of a realization they may have along the way. (อันนี้จู่ๆนึกถึงเวลาเรา freewrite แล้วเจอคำตอบอะไรบางอย่างที่ไม่ได้คิดว่าตามหาอยู่ แต่กลับตอบสิ่งที่ตามหาอยู่ อาจจะคล้ายๆกัน)
เช่น Sally wants to rise up in his organization. But, the film put in Boo as someone to be taken of which Sally doesn’t want to. But because this little girl actually “depends” on him so, he’s at odds with what his main goal is. If he gets exposed having a human child his career would disappear. So, the thing that he ‘values’, that he says he wants and the thing that he has to ‘take care of’ right now (นึกถึงตัวเอง อยากได้อิสระ แต่ก็ต้องการความมั่นคงทางการเงิน) are going to destroy each other. (นึกถึงประโยคที่ว่า ได้อย่างก็ต้องเสียอย่าง ด้วยแฮะ) His heart actually softens because he starts to care about Boo more than he cares about his career. In fact, he doesn’t care at all about his career anymore. And, he will choose what he needs in his life. His connection. A connection to another person. He wants Boo in his life.
So I think that oftentimes your WANT can be some of the entertainment of the story, but the need is gonna be that emotional heart that really makes people remember the film when they come out of the theater and for years later.
